in this unhappy climate of unprecedented public pressure and stifled voices of power, e tpt system is the latest victim, unfortunately.
it’s almost embarrassing to be singaporean when i read the news or fb comments reeking of entitlement bordering on unreasonableness. how did we breed a nation of spoilt and ungrateful brats? is it the lack of natural and external threats? must infighting be inevitable?
who/what can lead this/any nation?
am reminded of israel asking God for a king. it led to king saul, who well, was good for a while. and then king david, who was mostly good, then solomon who began a downward spiral and eventually led to several books of mayhem. of course, more recently, there’s capitalism and communism. all are doomed to fail because man is self-seeking. heh. if only we could live like the israelites did before their fateful request - http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Samuel+8&version=NIV
